Cargill inks renewable energy purchase agreement

Cargill Inc. has signed a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) to buy 50 megawatts (MW) of wind power from a wind farm currently under construction in South Dakota, the company said in a news release.

The Crocker Wind Farm project, being developed by Geronimo Energy, is designed to generate 200MW total. The other 150 MW is under contract to Walmart.
