Logistics Companies Extended Robust Hiring in July
Parcel and freight operators added jobs in big numbers in July, bolstering employment in services aimed largely at the burgeoning market for handling and delivering e-commerce orders.
Courier and messenger companies, which include the package carriers that carry goods to consumers’ homes, added 6,700 jobs from June to July, according to preliminary seasonally adjusted employment figures released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, while warehousing and storage companies boosted payrolls by 3,200 jobs.
